THE CERTIFIED CAREER DEVELOPMENT PRACTITIONER (ccdp) Designation

The CCDP® designation is a mark of professional excellence. It symbolizes the practitioner’s commitment to ongoing professional development and the continuous advancement of the career development field. It demonstrates your currency in the field and your commitment to maintaining high standards of service to your employer, your clients and the profession.

Engaging in on-going professional development equips you with knowledge and skills to use in the ever changing field of career development, to develop your own career plans and path, and to be of even greater benefit to your clients. You can also become a leader in your field by sharing your knowledge and skills with colleagues and community partners.

National Certification launched December 2024

Beginning December 2024, the CCDP Certification will be issued solely by the National Certification group, rather than provincially. The Provinces will no longer be certifying or re-certifying CCDPs after March 31, 2025.

Current CCDPs who are in good standing (i.e. not expired) will be able to transfer/legacy their credential to the National Certification group until November 21, 2025. For more information on the new National Career Development Certification (NCDC) program, please visit https://careercertification.ca. Important Information Regarding Your Provincial CCDP Designation

As stated above, please be advised that effective March 31, 2025 the Career Development Association of Alberta (CDAA) will no longer be certifying or re-certifying CCDPs.

If you are already certified by AB, BC, NB, NS, or ON and have maintained your certification in good standing at the time of application, you can apply for Legacy to National Certification without having to complete a Certification process again until November 21, 2025. You can start the process here:   https://careercertification.ca/legacy/

PLEASE NOTE:
In order to maintain your CCDP designation you will need to Legacy to National Certification PRIOR to your CDAA CCDP expiration date.

If your CDAA CCDP expiration date is after November 21, 2025, you will need to Legacy to National Certification PRIOR to November 21, 2025.

Please LOG IN to check your CDAA CCDP expiration date on your profile.

Your provincial renewal/expiry date will remain the same for your National Certification. To continue to maintain CCDP designation, CCDPs will need to complete Professional Development every 3 years.
